The Benefits of CBD

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the many cannabinoids found in the Cannabis plant. CBD has many benefits, including relief from many common ailments, anxiety, pain and inflammation, arthritis depression and post-traumatic stress disorder among many others.

CBD doesn't contain tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive ingredient found in the Cannabis plant that produces a euphoric feeling also known as a high.

CBD is thought to interact with cannabinoid receptors in the central nervous system, studies have shown that CBD has an impact on the endocannabinoid receptor activity helping to regulate bodily processes such as pain, inflammation, sleep, and metabolism and brain function.

CBD has shown to cause a reduction in pain perception in the brain and has also shown to have anti-inflammatory effects. Therefore helping with skin irritations and conditions such as redness from existing breakouts, acne, eczema and psoriasis

A number of studies have shown that CBD can have positive effect on those undergoing cancer treatment. CBD products can help reduce nausea, pain and sleep disturbance in cancer patients, it has also shown to increase appetite.

Several studies have been conducted around CBD and the effects it has on anxiety and depression and it can be concluded that CBD relieves various anxiety disorders, including, social anxiety disorder, and anxiety related to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). CBD has a positive impact on mood and behaviour by interacting with the neurotransmitter serotonin within the brain therefore elevating our mood in turn acting as an antidepressant.

Research has shown that CBD can positively impact cardiovascular health, due to tis anti-inflammatory effects it can reduce factors that lead to poor heart health such as heart disease, high blood pressure, risk of a stroke and other related conditions.

CBD has a positive impact on the central nervous system acting as a calming effect due to it’s interaction with receptors, providing benefits to those suffering with neurological disorders such as epilepsy and multiple sclerosis.
